Simple Okonomiyaki Recipe


Batter ingredients:
- 1/4 Cabbage (chop it into thin slices)
- A handful of skinless shrimps (optional)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup of flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 glass of water (mix with dashi or bonito flakes)

Toppings:
- Okonomiyaki sauce
- Sunny side-up egg (optional)
- Mayonnaise
- Bonito flakes
- Seaweed flakes (optional)

Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients 
2. Preheat a pan and add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. 
3. Pour the mixed ingredients and form it like a pancake about 1 inch thick.
4. Wait about 3-5 minutes, then flip the pancake. It should be lightly brown.
5. While waiting for the other side to be cooked, add okonomiyaki sauce on the pancake and spread it evenly.
6. Place the sunny-side-up egg, squeeze mayonnaise over the pancake, sprinkle bonito and seaweed flakes.
7. Transfer the pancake to a plate, then serve.

Notes: If your mixture looks too much for one pan, you can cook the batter mixture in a half and a half or depends on the size you wish to make.
